My career as a photographer

I first picked up a camera when I was 7 years old. It was a small Canon handheld camera that my parents got me. I would take it with me everywhere or just inside my home as I took photos of my sister and I being funny. I strongly remember how passionate I was about it. I took my first photography class during my sophomore year of high school, and I absolutely loved it. I learned how to get the best photos by adjusting shutter speed,  ISO, and aperture. I also got the opportunity to shoot on a film camera, where I learned how to develop film. My photography teacher showed me the process for making prints of your photos, along with how to create cyanotypes. I’ve learned so much about photography these past few years, and I plan to continue to grow as a photographer. My dream job would include elements of photography and allow me to follow this passion.

3S ART SPACE SHOW

During my sophomore year, Portsmouth High School partnered with 3S Art Space, a local community art space, to put on a large-scale student art show. My photography teacher asked me to submit these two photos, and they were both selected to be on display. Motor Bike Alley was taken on an old-fashioned film camera, which I developed and printed myself.
