Ever since I was little, I’ve loved art. I vividly remember having a small wooden table in the corner of the kitchen where I would draw.  I began to take art more seriously in sixth grade, where I created many different art pieces in class. When COVID shut down schools during the end of seventh grade, I started drawing and painting as a hobby to keep myself occupied. In high school, I’ve taken over six unique art classes with three different teachers.

I also remember how much I enjoyed writing as a kid. I had a purple composition book in fourth and fifth grade that I wrote stories in every week. I started becoming more confident in my writing when I entered my junior year in high school, when I had an amazing English teacher who taught me everything she knows about writing creatively.

I enjoy art and creative writing for the freedom it gives me to express myself. There’s no restrictions on where the story can go. Art gives everyone the freedom to simply express who they are as an individual, which is something I love to do.

Why I’m Interested in Creative Media

I’m interested in pursuing majors in creative media, creative writing, marketing, photography and design that leverage my creative interests and also prepare me for a career in business or entrepreneurship.  I want my career to include my creativity and artistic strengths as well as my analytical and leadership skills.
